BGI refutes rumors about acquisition of brewery
On May 9, BGI issued a statement saying that at present, BGI has no project or plan to acquire a brewery in Ethiopia. The statement also stated that the name of the company that acquired the Meta Abo Brewery (Meta Abo) in online news reports is BGI Ethiopia, which is different from BGI Health Ethiopia PLC, a subsidiary of BGI in Ethiopia.

Thai Beverage’s net profit for the first half of the fiscal year ended March 2022 rose 13% year-on-year to 16.3175 billion baht (about 3.192 billion yuan).
Carlsberg launches new ad with Danish actor Max
Carlsberg Brewery Group has launched a new global advertising campaign with Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. The ad tells the story of the Carlsberg Foundation, one of the oldest industrial foundations in the world.
Carlsberg said that by presenting the Carlsberg Foundation’s story at the new global event, it gave people the belief that by “brewing better beer, we can create a better world”. The centerpiece of the ad is Max, who walks through several of the Carlsberg Foundation’s focus areas, such as the science laboratory, spaceship, artist studio and farm.
According to Carlsberg, the ad emphasizes, “Through the Carlsberg Foundation, nearly 30 percent of our red income is used for science, space exploration to find giant black holes, art and developing crops of the future.”
